Recent Beauty Favourites

Sooo it’s been a while since I’ve done a beauty related post, and one of my favourite kind of posts to read is a favourites post, oh yes, I do love even more reasons to go out and buy makeup that I don’t need… so on that note, I think it’s about time to bring monthly favourites back…. yay!

Bio Oil

I’ve been so excited to talk about this product! I got involved in a twitter chat that Bio Oil held and mentioned that I’ve never tried it before but would love to, and they got in touch a couple of weeks back and very kindly sent me a sample, and said that they would love to hear what I thought. and put it this way, since then, I’m now on my fourth bottle of it, |I love it! I’ve bought 2 big bottles of it that I use on my body, and a little bit more on the areas that the product is meant for, such as stretch marks, scars etc. and it has helped me feel that little bit more confident that I’ll have the body confidence to wear a bikini this Summer without feeling like I have to hide the stretch marks and scars, for me personally, I have quite big boobs, so I have some stretch marks there and around the common areas, hips, thighs etc. and the oil has helped them fade after about 4 weeks of using it after a shower, I didn’t have the time to use it every time, but every 2-3 days I would make sure to use it. I also bought another small bottle that I use for my face, I use it under my makeup before I apply primer as an extra moisturizer for my skin, and also on my lips, and it’s made my lips feeling so soft and moisturized and helps lipstick apply and look much nicer, helping avoid dry, cracked lips and lipstick flaking off. I was so surprised at the variety of different uses for Bio Oil, and would highly recommend using it if you also suffer from stretch marks and scars, or just if your skin is quite dry and needs that extra bit of loving. You can find Bio Oil in Boots here, and also in some pharmacies, and also in Primark.

Formar Double Radiance Primer & Highlighter

Coming into the Spring months, I was on the hunt for a glowy look for my base rather than a matte look, and this was the perfect product. The photo does it no justice, it gorgeous, it’s like liquid rose gold! I like to mix it with my foundation to give that “glow from within” look, especially coming up to this time of year I love a healthy glow look. You can also use it as a primer before you apply foundation, which I haven’t tried yet. I like to blend it in above my cheek bones with a beauty blender for a subtle highlight, or if you want a more intense highlight, use it as a base for powder highlight, it looks insane! As far as I know, Flormar is sold at most pharmacies or Boots.

Foundation Combo

Recently, I’ve been quite oily in my t zone and I’m finding it so hard to find a foundation that doesn’t budge, and hides pores. My go to foundation for the t zone is the L’Oreal Paris Infalliable Matte Foundation, this foundation gives you a flawless, matte finish and covers everything that you need covered, including pores, and stays put for the whole day/night. For the rest of the face, I’ve been using the Flormar Perfect Coverage Foundation, I was recommended this from a friend so I picked it up recently and I totally agree with her when she said she would compare it to MAC foundation, it’s full on coverage, and mixed with the primer/highlighter,it gives you a natural healthy glow and full coverage that doesn’t look cakey. The only problems I’ve had with this is that with being extra oily recently, it tends to move around during the day, which is why I’ve started to avoid using it in my t zone, so if anyone can recommend a good primer for oily skin, that’d be amazing! The only other thing is that I wouldn’t recommend blending it into the skin with a beauty blender, it moves around too much and the sponge soaks up a lot of the product, but lending it with a flat kabuki foundation brush, you get a flawless coverage and it blends nicely. In my opinion, Flormar is such an underrated brand, it’s drugstore price, but such high quality.

W7 Banana Dreams Loose Powder

I fell in love with this product straight away, again, drugstore price, so cheap, but such good quality! I’ve never used banana powder before, I was hesitant to because of it’s yellow colour, just in case I ended up looking like something out of The Simpsons haha, but I was super surprised at how good this powder was for the price! It’s been a life saver when it comes to using the flash taking photos on a night out, no flashback and looking like a ghost! I was recommended not to use the powder all over the face but I love to use it on my forehead and under my eyes and on my cheekbones above the contour. It brightens up under your eyes, and it’s just like using loose translucent powder. I can confirm you don’t end up looking like a minion, you can’t see it at all. I got mine from a pharmacy, so I’m sure it’s available anywhere drugstore makeup is sold, and also online here.

Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 Salvation Palette

Look at these shades, yaaaaas! This palette has become my new favourite, and actually has become more used than my high end eyeshadow palettes, it’s made me fall in love with drugstore eyeshadows. They’re super pigmented and blend like a dream. The shimmer shades also look amazing when you wet the brush with MAC Srudio Fix +. You can get your hands on in most Boots/Superdrug and some pharmacies, wherever stock Makeup Revolution, or online at Superdrug here.

Benefit Gimme Brow

This product was my first ever brow gel, I’m late to the party, I know, but this product is beautiful! If you pencil in your brows, brushing them through after with this, it gives your brows a natural finish, and keeps them in place and looking full and dark. And on days where you have no time to pencil your brows, this is my best friend!

Benefit They’re Real Mascara

I’ve always went for a drugstore mascara, Rimmel London mascaras in particular are my go to, until I tried this one. It makes my lashes look fake, I’ve never gotten so many compliments on them before! If you like the full, almost clumpy effect, you’ll love this mascara as much as I do. I now really want to try other Benefit mascaras, I can honestly say this one is worth the hype, it’s amazing.

Lip Combo

This lip combo is so pretty! I recently bought the MAC lip liner in Soar, and I love it! it’s such a pretty nude on the pink side, and it goes so nicely with so many nude lipsticks, or looks gorgeous on it’s own. I love pairing it with Velvet Teddy, and it creates such a gorgeous pinky-nude lip look.

MAC Prep & Prime Studio Fix +

Again, I’m so late to the party on this one, but I finally got my hands on this beauty when my Urban Decay setting spray ran out, and oh my goodness, there’s no going back to any other setting spray. What have I been doing without this in my makeup collection? It primes the skin, sets your base, and makes any powder insanely pigmented when you wet the brush with it before you use the powder, its magic! And in my opinion, it’s really reasonably priced too compared to some other brand’s setting sprays!
