October Favourites / Haul

Hi lovelies !

Hope everyone had a great Halloween, and October! It’s been a great month, I’ve never been that into Halloween, or anything scary for that matter, but I was proper into it this year, even managed to brave a scare house called The Nightmare Realm, something I never ever saw myself even thinking about attempting! I’m not one for dressing up so autumnal makeup and a pair of cat ears was as far as I ventured, meow!

So it’s about that time again, I get so excited about these posts, monthly favourites! I’ve done a little homeware and stationary shopping recently too so just incase any of you are interested, I’m gonna mention them in this post too.

It’s come to that time of year again where the summer tans have almost gone, or in my case, being ridiculously pale, it’s long gone! So the only place you’re gonna get a tan if you’re not going on a winter holiday, is from a bottle. Now, I’m not one to splash out on expensive false tans or spray tans, so I’m all about finding a bargain. I’ve been loving Cocoa Brown, it’s very affordable and easy to get hold of from Boots or most pharmacies. It blends into the skin so well and dries quickly, and doesn’t patch or come off as quickly as other tans when you’re washing your hands or having a shower. I tend to leave it on for a minimum of 3 hours before rinsing it off, but you can leave it on for only an hour or two, depending on how dark you prefer your tan.

My favourite perfume, is one that can be used all year round. I’m not the biggest fan of musky scents, I’m more into fresh scents when it comes to perfumes, so this was right up my street. Olympea by Paco Robane is a gorgeous citrus scent, it’s my go to everyday perfume.

With the cold weather slowly but surely creeping in, these two have been my life savers. I get the worst dry skin on my hands and my lips in particular at this time of year, so I picked these up to try and they’ve been so good to me. For my lips I picked up the Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment. I use put this on before I go to bed and leave it on overnight. I only use it at night as it’s really thick so you can still feel it on your lips in the morning. My lips feel so plump and hydrated in the morning , which helps lipsticks apply much better, and helps avoid cracked lips in the cold weather. For my hands, I picked up the Soap And Glory Hand Food, and I absolutely love it I’ve been using it nearly every day, and my hands feel so soft and haven’t been dry or cracked from the colder weather or constantly washing my hands in work. What I love most about it though is that it’s thick, but dries into your hands quickly and doesn’t leave an oily feeling after, and it smells delicious! And it’s the perfect size to fit in your handbag, it goes with me everywhere lately!

For taking off makeup, I’ve been obsessed with the Garnier Micellar Oil Infused Cleansing Water. I use this with cotton pads and it literally melts away Makeup with just one wipe, even waterproof makeup. The oil infused in the water also leaves your face feeling hydrated and moisturised. I also use this first thing in the morning if I’m having a no makeup day and it gives a clean, fresh look to the skin and leaves your skin feeling so soft. I literally haven’t used anything other than this as a makeup remover, and I can’t see that changing anytime soon!

The So Su Contour Palette has been one of my most used beauty products this month, I mean, look how beautiful the packaging is! There’s 4 creams and 2 powders, 2 cream contour shades, and 2 highlight shades, 1 cream concealer shade, and 1 powder concealer/highlight shade. This palette is so easy to use, they blend beautifully and the contour and highlight last all day/night once you set them with powder and setting spray. My favourite shades to use are shade 1 for concealer, shade 2 for contour, and shade 5 for highlight.

My last favourites for this month are my top 3 lipsticks for this season. I’ve chosen 2 for everyday casual wear, and one for more of a going out look.

So the first one I’ve been loving for an everyday casual makeup look is the one you can see on the far left in the photo below. It’s Plumful by MAC, a subtle berry toned lipstick with a slight sheen finish. It’s a lovely autumnal shade, but very wearable for everyday if you’re trying to avoid the bolder shades.

The lipstick I’ve been loving for a going out look, or just as a bolder shade, is Copenhagen by NYX. A burgandy toned matte shade, again, perfect for autumn winter if you’re going for a bold look.

My go to everyday nude lipstick I’ve been loving is Velvet Teddy by MAC. This lipstick is definitely worth the hype, it’s the perfect nude with any makeup look. It’s a gorgeous nude with a slight hint of pink and it’s more creamy, so it’s not fully matte, so it doesn’t dry out the lips.

Now for a little homeware / stationary haul…

I picked this little notebook and stationary set in Primark (or Penneys in Ireland), from the Gabriella X Primark range. How cute are they?! They’re so affordable, the stationary set was only €6 and the notebook was only €3.50, bargain! I bought these as I said in my October goals I wanted to be more organised with my blog, so these are for writing down blog ideas etc., I’m so excited to start organising Blogmas this month and be pre-prepared for next month, exciting!

I picked up these two gorgeous candles in TK Max for only €9.99 each, that’s a bargain for a big 3 wick candle, they’re going to last ages, which makes me so happy! Candles are my favourite thing this time of year! The first one I got was Gingerbread from Copenhagen Company, from their Christmas range. The second one I picked up was Pumpkin from Everyday Luxe. The selection of candles in TK Max is insane, I could have spent hours trying to pick one! But these two were my favourite, they smell delicious, and no better seasonal scents than gingerbread, pumpkin spice and cinnamon!

The last 2 things I picked up from New Look, they were too cute to leave there! I got this cute photo album that comes with stickers and photo backgrounds for only €8.99, and this photo bunting pack that comes with the string to hand up on the wall, little frames to hold the photos, and little pegs to hang them on the string, I’m so excited to get this up, and it was only €6.99, I mean, how cute?!

Before I go I just want to thank all my lovely followers so much for helping me reach and exceed my monthly goal for October of 30 or hopefully 50 blog followers, I now have over 60, that means so much so thank you so much! (Maybe I should celebrate with finally trying a pumpkin spice latte, because I still haven’t, ooops!)

I’m obsessed with lip balms so I really want to try that one out, it sounds incredible! I also still need to pick up bits from Gabbys range, my local Primark has the worst homeware section ever so it’s so hard to find! Deffo gonna try that fake tan, I’ve never used it before but it sounds really good and I’m glad it’s not patchy and doesn’t come off as much in the shower or when washing hands, that’s a problem I always have with tan! The packaging of the perfume is gorgeous too!!
